Keeping as much of your hard earned money as possible is a lot easier when you have expert help and if you’re hoping that money comes in the form of a tax return then you’re in luck! The Uintah Basin has three sites available for free tax preparation services. VITA stands for Volunteer Income Tax Assistance and it pairs up trained/IRS certified volunteers with Uintah Basin citizens needing help filing their taxes. Appointments for free tax preparation are available in Roosevelt at UBTech, Vernal at the Uintah County Library, and Duchesne at the Duchesne City Library. Availability in Roosevelt and Duchesne are by appointment only while Vernal has appointment times as well as 9 to 11am on Saturdays for walk-ins.
