Utah Highway Patrol has identified the victims in the fatal crash that took place on Highway 40 near Strawberry Reservoir on Saturday afternoon. Further details of the crash have also been shared. UHP released on Monday that on March 14th, at about 2:30 pm, a box truck was traveling eastbound on SR-40 near milepost 51, and a Chevy Silverado pickup was traveling westbound. “The box truck left its lane of travel to the right and drove a short distance on the dirt shoulder. It reentered the roadway, overcorrected, and crossed the centerline in front of the Silverado. The two vehicles collided. The cab of the box truck was disconnected from the frame and came to rest upside down. The two occupants of the Silverado sustained fatal injuries and died at the scene. The driver of the box truck was transported with serious injuries to an area hospital.” The identity of the Silverado’s driver is 39-year-old Don C. Herbert and the identity of the passenger is 34-year-old Mitchell L. Farnsworth.
