The Duchesne County Sheriff’s Office has identified the pedestrian killed in the auto-pedestrian accident that happened in Duchesne County on Tuesday. The Sheriff’s Office updated their news release on Wednesday, stating, “On December 16th, deputies with the Duchesne County Sheriff’s Office responded to a report of a vehicle versus pedestrian accident near the area of 6500 South 12000 West. Upon arrival, deputies determined that a pedestrian, identified as 19-year-old Kai Cowan of Arcadia, had been struck by a vehicle while walking in the lane of travel. Tragically, Mr. Cowan succumbed to injuries sustained in the collision and was pronounced deceased at the scene. At this time, there is no indication of criminal violations associated with the incident. However, the investigation remains active and ongoing, and deputies are continuing to gather information to determine the full circumstances surrounding the crash.” Evans Family Media joins in offering condolences to the family and friends mourning this tragic loss.
