The Vernal Theatre: Live Season 9 closer is guaranteed to be an entertaining night of laughs sprinkled with chaos. ‘Kiss Me, Kate’ Assistant Director Isaac Merrick explains that part of the fun is that this is a play within a play. “When I think about it, the most unique thing about our show is that it really is two shows in one,” shares Merrick. “Half of it is what you’d normally expect from a musical while the other half is a whole different show being performed by the characters. The biggest thing I would say to watch out for is the parallels between the 2 shows,” continues Merrick. “They play off each other in so many fun ways. The problems our characters face bleed into the other show and it leads to great comedic moments and chaos on stage as both you and the characters are trying to figure out what’s happening.” ‘Kiss Me, Kate’ opens this Friday and runs through April 19th.
