Vernal Regional Airport Manager on Transitioning to Skywest

Vernal Regional Airport Manager Doug Brown is busy preparing for the shift in airline carriers scheduled to take place this summer. In speaking about the transition, Brown is quick to praise Boutique on the job they’ve done but is also clear that moving forward with Skywest was a clear choice. Skywest’s bid was $400,000 dollars cheaper annually than Boutique, explains Brown, and the majority of the population wants to see TSA return which is only possible with the switch to Skywest. For those concerned about price differences for the average patron Brown says that on the latest bid the airlines were comparable with Boutique listing their airfare bid as $98 dollars while Skywest was $99 dollars. It is anticipated that Skywest will begin service in July or sooner.
