Vernal Regional Airport Could Receive Extra Muscle On Summer Projects

It’s always onward and upward at the Vernal Regional Airport as improvements are consistently being made. Vernal City announced last month that the Vernal Regional Airport is soliciting help with some projects through the Department of Defense’s Innovative Readiness Training program. “The assistance will include refinement of a left-over dirt pre-existing crosswind runway, bathroom renovation, and dirt road improvement,” shares the announcement. “The proposed assistance will take place at the Vernal Regional Airport in late-May to mid-June. The Utah Army National Guard, and more specifically our local National Guard Engineer Unit will derive valuable training while the Vernal Regional Airport benefits directly by providing the opportunity. Vernal City and Uintah County do not pay the Utah Army National Guard for this training event.” For more information, contact airport manager Ken Campbell.
