There is no doubt that local law enforcement are doing their part to keep our communities safe but generally all that their work involves isn’t discussed. Vernal Police Department provided a snapshot of what kept their officers busy over the Memorial holiday weekend and it helps put their efforts in perspective. Over the weekend, Vernal PD responded to 192 calls for service, had 26 case reports, responded to 3 traffic accidents, made 40 traffic stops, 27 arrests, and issued 18 citations. Vernal PD has also been participating in the national Click It or Ticket campaign which runs through June 1st.
