The Vernal Police Department is participating in the national Click It or Ticket campaign running through June 1st and has some reminders for the community. “During this period, officers will be actively enforcing seat belt laws—please remember to buckle up every time you’re on the road,” shares Vernal PD. “In addition, we’ve seen an increase in vehicles with excessively loud exhaust systems and those emitting black smoke. These types of violations will also be a focus of enforcement efforts. Last month, following a couple of near misses involving pedestrians nearly being struck in crosswalks, our department placed an emphasis on crosswalk violation enforcement. Ensuring pedestrian safety remains a top priority for our department.” Their request is simple: As we head into summer, let’s all do our part to stay safe.
