Affordable is a relative term but apparently compared to most other areas of Utah, Vernal is among the ‘Best Affordable Towns To Retire In Utah’. World Atlas distributed the list which also includes Tooele, Panguitch, Nephi, Tremonton, Beaver, Gunnison, and Delta. The assessment of Vernal states that it is known for its proximity to recreation areas and geologic sites, providing retirees with access to viewpoints, reservoirs, and paved paths around town. It claims that in Vernal, one “can find a good home at a median sales price of $350,000, and the town’s commercial corridor offers most daily necessities, while community markets and events give residents ways to stay engaged. Vernal is a good fit for retirees who enjoy wide landscapes and don’t mind living farther from Utah’s urban centers.”
