World Atlas has published a list citing the ‘11 Best Places To Live In The Rockies In 2026’ and Vernal is the only Utah city to make it. Also on the list are Canon City, Montrose, Alamosa, Dillon and Trinidad in Colorado; Butte and Anaconda in Montana; Salmon, Idaho; Thermopolis, Wyoming; and Raton, New Mexico. The list was compiled with more than just cost in mind and says scenery and recreation were also considerations.
