Main Street in Vernal near Kid’s Canal will be fully closed starting today as work is completed on the canal piping project. “A section of Main Street near 1500 West will be closed December 10th through December 18th for extensive work on the storm drain, culvert, and canal piping,” shares Vernal City. “Please plan for alternate routes and avoid the area when possible. This project is not a Vernal City project. For further questions or concerns regarding the canal project, please contact the Ashley Central Canal Company.” For anyone that usually takes Main Street to or from Central Cove, Terra Academy, the USU and UBTech campus, or Uintah High School, plan an alternate route now. The detour for the closure includes 1350 West, 250 South, and 1500 West.
