Upgrades to the Vernal City water meter system means some upcoming changes to the billing schedule for Vernal City residents. A job that used to take time all month long can now be done in 4 hours, explains Mayor Sonja Norton, thanks to the upgrade to the radio water read system. This means that the City can now bill in just one cycle rather than three each month. Residents will receive notice in the mail of their new payment deadline with a prorated bill to reflect the change in the schedule. Mayor Norton also says that changes may be made when notifying accounts of past due balances. The City is considering sending a separate past due notice from the monthly water bill statement.
