Vernal City Shares Concept Designs For Lamplighter Block; Feedback Invited

Vernal City has shared the concept designs for the recently acquired Lamplighter Block that is scheduled for demolition in the coming months. The designs are shared through a survey that allows for feedback on 3 concepts and style preferences. The first stage of community engagement took place earlier this year when 752 online survey responses were received and over 50 people chose to attend an open house about the project. The feedback gathered guided the development of the 3 concept designs now shared. The first concept is called the Dino Plaza that weaves a splash creek and dinosaur playground with shaded paths through the plaza that includes a hotel, restaurant, retail space with lofts, and an event lawn with a bandstand. The second concept is called The Basin and is inspired by the region’s geology by including designs to reflect the local landscapes. It also includes a water feature, hotel and restaurant, event lawn with a bandstand, and retail space with lofts as well as a landmark tower and different block layout. The third concept is called the Town Square and includes a different layout of the features but builds in more activities in every season, including a space for an ice ribbon and pavilion. The survey is easy to follow, allowing the viewer to rank the concepts and share specific features and design options that are preferred.
