A public hearing is coming up to review the environmental draft of the Steinaker Service Canal Trail project. “The project proposes a 1.9-mile paved multi-use path that will repurpose the existing Steinaker Service Canal service corridor to create a safe, scenic route for walking, biking, and other non-motorized uses,” shares the announcement. “The proposed trail aims to improve transportation alternatives, recreational access and enhance connectivity to multiple community assets.” The project is led and supported by the Utah Department of Transportation’s Trails Division, in partnership with Vernal City, Uintah County, and other local stakeholders. The public hearing of the Vernal City Council has been scheduled for August 6th at 6pm. Sunrise Engineering will be presenting on the project.
