Vernal City Makes Statement on Fireworks

Vernal City is not banning fireworks and City administration took time on Tuesday to clarify the topic. “Vernal City has received several questions regarding whether or not Vernal City is allowing individual fireworks this year,” shared Vernal City. “According to State law, a city cannot outright ban fireworks, so individual fireworks are allowed within city limits so long as the firework complies with State regulations. Fireworks are not allowed in the unincorporated County areas and in city parks. However, the City strongly recommends caution when lighting fireworks, keeping a pressurized hose nearby and staying away from dry grass areas.” This information only applies within Vernal City limits. Fireworks are NOT allowed in any of unincorporated Uintah County, which basically means anywhere outside of Vernal, Naples, or Ballard city limits.
