Vernal City will have a new trash collection company in 2018. During Wednesday’s City Council meeting, bids for solid waste services were reviewed. RDT and G&H Garbage both submitted bids, both with monthly costs below the existing rate. Vernal City Council selected G&H Garbage as the preferred provider due to the lower bid at $11.50 per month. The monthly resident cost will be $13.94, explains City Manager Quinn Bennion, with the administrative fee decrease of $1.66 per month. RDT, as the incumbent provider, will finish out their service this spring at which time G&H Garbage will take over.
