The transformation of downtown Vernal will certainly continue as long term plans for the Lamplighter block move forward. During their Wednesday meeting, Vernal City Council officially approved the plans for the Downtown Vernal Community Block. “Plans for the Community Block include features such as a visitor center and café, outdoor gathering spaces, a stage and terraced lawn for events, a splash creek and adventure play area, flexible plaza space, future retail and dining opportunities, and more,” shares the Vernal City announcement. “This project will be completed in phases over an estimated 5 to 7 year timeline, allowing improvements to be thoughtfully implemented while pursuing funding opportunities and minimizing disruption.” As this is a long-term project, elements of the plan may evolve. Vernal City will continue sharing updates as plans progress.
