A construction project on 100 North in Vernal is well underway. Crews are currently working near the Uintah County Library and 100 North is closed in the area. The project is replacing and upgrading public water and sewer mains, and installing a new asphalt roadway surface. “Infrastructure such as sewer systems plays a critical role in protecting public health and maintaining reliable service for the community,” shares the Vernal City Notice on the 100 North project. “Much of Vernal City’s existing infrastructure (particularly in this neighborhood) has reached an age where significant upgrades are necessary. In addition, population growth has increased demand on these systems, and many of the existing utilities were not designed to support that level of capacity. For these reasons, the City has identified this area as a high priority for utility improvements.” Questions on the project should be referred to Vernal City.
