The Vernal Area Chamber of Commerce shared information that the Utah Mining Association announced that the final applications for the Oil, Gas, and Mineral Grant Program went live on Tuesday. To qualify the business needs to be substantially involved in the extraction or directly provide services for oil, gas, or minerals in Utah, have experienced a Utah revenue decline related to COVID-19, have employees physically located in Utah, have fewer than 250 full-time equivalent Utah employees, and establish that funds will be used to benefit Utah’s economy. There will be some required documentation and an application to fill out. The GOED grant program came about quickly and has had a quick turn-around so there is still information that needs dispersing. One piece of information that just came out is that all applicants must create a GOED user account and receive user credentials BEFORE applications can be submitted. The Oil, Gas, and MIneral Grant page indicates that the process to make an account could take up to 24 hours, the chamber has been reassured that generally credentials will be received  in less than an hour. This grant program is first come, first serve and is expected to go through funds quickly. A tip to help, be sure to check your spam folder after you have requested to create your GOED account as the reply email from GOED can sometimes be caught by filters.
