Vernal is among 6 stops in the state next week where demonstrations of the “future of aviation” are happening. 47G-Utah Aerospace and Defense, the Utah Department of Transportation Aeronautics Division, and the Governor’s Office of Economic Opportunity are hosting aerospace company BETA Technologies as they conduct Utah’s first air taxi demonstrations across the state. “BETA will conduct flight demonstrations of its electric aircraft, ALIA, to showcase the future of air mobility in Utah,” shares the announcement. “These flights will demonstrate how this new technology has the potential to reduce commute times, increase access and delivery times for cargo and medical needs, open accessibility to jobs, education and recreational opportunities and improve air quality.” Open Houses are scheduled in Salt Lake and Provo on March 10th; in Heber, Logan, and Ogden on March 11th; and in Vernal on March 12th at noon. The event to see the ALIA aircraft up close is free and open to the public but registration is required.
