The Ute Indian Tribe annual PowWow is a favorite event that happens over the 4th of July holiday each year and the Ute Indian Tribe Business Committee is setting the record straight about an incident at this year’s event. “The Ute Indian Tribe Business Committee of the Uintah and Ouray Reservation wishes to inform the public regarding rumors circulating that an individual armed with an AR-15 assault rifle was present at the Tribe’s PowWow. This information is false,” shares the announcement. “In fact, an individual with a BB gun was apprehended and taken into custody, and no one was harmed. At no time during the PowWow were any lives at risk.”
