State unemployment has ticked up slightly while national unemployment has ticked down. The Department of Workforce Services reports that state unemployment was revised upward two-tenth to 3.9 percent for the month of September while national unemployment dropped two-tenths from the month before to 3.7 percent. “The latest job market statistics indicate that our state continues to ride the momentum of healthy expansion,” shares DWS Chief Economist Carrie Mayne. “Job seekers continue to find employment opportunities, despite a slight softening in the labor force measures.” Unemployment rates by county will be released this week.
