Utah Library Association Awards Roosevelt Librarian at Awards Ceremony

Roosevelt Branch Librarian Stephen Moon isn’t afraid to stand out and add some fun to whatever he’s up to and he didn’t make an exception for the Utah Library Association Conference held last week in Provo. Earlier this year, the Utah Library Association announced Moon as the ULA 2018 Librarian of the Year and of course Moon decided to receive the award during last week’s conference in style. In a sea of khakis, polos, and cardigan sweaters, Moon was comfortably dressed as the Mad Hatter, just one of the many costumes he utilizes to bring fun to library and community events in the Uintah Basin. Moon expressed his appreciation upon receiving the award and emphasized that his library’s success is thanks to the group of people working with him there. Moon has been at the Roosevelt Branch Library since 2004 and worked in Utah libraries since 1989 in Uintah County, Davis County, and Duchesne County.
