The Utah Energy United initiative recognizes excellence in the energy industry and has announced the winners of the annual UPA Safety and Environmental Awards held this month. This year’s Community Champion Award went to SM Energy. The announcement shared that through their newly established Charitable Contribution Committee, SM Energy directed funding toward initiatives that strengthen education, healthcare, and quality of life across the Uintah Basin, including support for Con Amore School, Uintah Basin Technical College scholarships, Thompsen House of Hope, and local STEM robotics programs…In 2025, the company’s charity golf tournament raised over $43,000 for the Thrive Life Project, and SM Energy committed $200,000 to UBTech’s Dream Accelerator Project, a mobile learning program introducing K–8 students to technical careers.
