USU Uintah Basin Students Offer Service On Ashley National Forest

USU Uintah Basin students and faculty stepped up last week to provide the muscle for a project on the Ashley National Forest as part of an effort to clean up trails. The group focused their energy on trail maintenance near the Manila Park Trail from White Cloud Loop Road to Mill Park. With Ashley National Forest covering over 1.25 million acres, it is imperative to have extra help when it comes to maintenance. The Uintah Basin Back Country Horsemen of Utah and the Colorado Plateau Horseman’s Hall of Fame were there as partners on the project. In fact, the Colorado Plateau Horseman’s Hall of Fame has a scholarship that they offer each year to a USU Uintah Basin student who looks to make a significant contribution to the equine industry in western Colorado and eastern Utah.
