The first of what will surely be a tradition of successful scholarship golf tournaments for USU-Uintah Basin was held last week at the Dinaland Golf Course, raising money for the region’s workforce and leaders to earn their college degrees. The Perfect Swing for Scholarships Golf Tournament held on August 30th raised over $10,000 dollars. There were 23 teams in the 18-hole scramble that was put on not only by USU but also the help of the Uintah County Economic Development Office and Uintah County Commission. “We think it is a great way for USU to support students attending our institution and stay connected with the local community and industries,” shares USU-Uintah Basin’s associate director Cameron Cuch. “These organizations are making an investment in the Uintah Basin’s future leaders and workforce.” USU-Uintah Basin has nearly a million dollars available annually to support students through scholarships. All the proceeds from the event supports students and plans are already in place to make this an annual event. Donations can be made at any time by visiting
