USU Uintah Basin Celebrates Class Of 2022

Saturday was an exciting day as USU Uintah Basin celebrated the Class of 2022 at the Uintah Conference Center. The graduates included 127 students earning 75 associate, 53 bachelor’s, and 9 master’s degrees as well as 1 graduate certificate. Two students received a special recognition: Yvette Rea as the Outstanding Undergraduate Student and Vanessa Liesik as the Outstanding Graduate Student. Thao Chau was the student speaker who shared a message about following dreams and finding balance. The keynote speaker was Kosi Colin who spoke about her personal journey of living in poverty in South Africa to getting a college degree and starting a nonprofit. Colin teaches at Vernal Middle School and is the co-founder of Transkei Life that supports education and activities of kids in South Africa. USU President Noelle Cockett and USU Alumni Association executive director Kim Larsen both also spoke. USU Uintah Basin has been serving students for over 50 years.
