Utah State University Uintah Basin has recently received a scholarship endowment from a local organization. Northeastern Counseling Center donated $25,000 dollars for the USU-Uintah Basin Master of Social Work students. The donation was in response to a 2018 announcement from USU President Noelle Cockett that the “Aggie Family Matching Scholarship Initiative” provides a full match of scholarship donations, meaning the total endowment after the donation from Northeastern Counseling  is $50,000 dollars, which will be invested to provide continuing scholarships from the growth of investment. In addition to the $25,000 dollar endowment donation, Northeastern Counseling donated another $5,000 for current scholarships and have committed to donating $10,000 for the next two years making a total of $50,000 in donations to USU-Uintah Basin. The partnership between Northeastern Counseling and USU is mutually beneficial. “We are able to provide students hands-on experience necessary to graduate, and in return we offer many students careers,” shares Northeastern CEO Kyle Snow. “Because of our location, it is often hard for us to recruit social workers to work here. Through this partnership, about 90% of those we hire are USU alumni. In the end, our community benefits by having such a well-trained team offering life-changing services.”
