Local information about air quality is easy to come by thanks to the professionals at the USU Bingham Research Center. Dr. Seth Lyman announced on Wednesday that the program has begun for this winter and will continue through March 2022. For those that subscribe, the program sends emails when ozone is predicted to exceed the EPA standard in the Uinta Basin as well as when a high ozone episode comes to an end. The goal is to keep people informed so that they can make choices to reduce air pollution during the time when air quality is likely to be impaired. Thankfully, there’s not an immediate concern concerning air quality. “Air quality has been great lately,” shares Dr. Lyman, “and our forecast for the next week is that it will continue to be great. Expect to hear from us again when and if high wintertime ozone is expected.” Sign up to receive winter ozone alerts at https://www.usu.edu/binghamresearch/ozone-alert
