The University of Utah Manufacturing Extension Partnership (MEP) Center has announced four satellite offices in the state of Utah and the USU-Uintah Basin campus in Vernal is among the sites. According to a press release issued this week, the satellite offices will connect regional manufacturers to the resources offered by MEP Center, assessing and identifying company needs and providing recommendations to help manufacturers become more globally competitive. Essentially, these companies receive “high quality work at a cost many would not be able to otherwise afford.” Seth Lyman, Director of the USU Bingham Research Center in Vernal, considers the announcement an exciting one for the Uintah Basin. “This new partnership with the University of Utah MEP Center will be extremely beneficial for our regional campus and our local economy,” shares Lyman. “The staff at the MEP Center have a real commitment to help businesses all across the state, not just in the Wasatch Front.”
