Construction in Indian Canyon will have alternating traffic for a lane closure starting next week. UDOT announced that starting on Monday, May 4th, temporary traffic signals will be installed to guide alternating one-way traffic between milepost 264.1 and 264.8. “Drivers can expect up to 20 minute delays at the traffic signals,” shares the announcement. “During work hours there will be multiple active work zones along US-191. Expect up to 30 minute delays through the canyon. This lane closure is necessary for crews to remove large rocks from the hillside. Reducing traffic to one lane provides space for equipment and helps protect drivers from potential debris. Crews plan to work weekends to help minimize overall delays in the area.” The traffic signals will be in place 24/7, including weekends, to guide traffic through a one-lane section of road and the work is expected to last 2 to 3 weeks.
