Update on Pipeline from Duchesne to Carbon County

Potential continues for a pipeline to run oil from Duchesne County to the rail lines in Carbon County. 7 County Infrastructure Coalition Executive Director Mike McKee provided an update on the project during the Coalition meeting earlier this month. The study on the project should be complete by October, shares McKee, and the Coalition is working on the non-disclosure agreement and working with the potential project partners. The project proposes to run a pipeline from the Uintah Basin to Wellington City near Price in order to connect the Basin’s oil producers with the state’s largest rail transloading facilities. This gives the Basin the potential to reach markets outside of Utah in a more efficient and environmentally friendly way. The project concept was developed after plans to build a rail line through the Basin were scrapped.
