The Union High School Interact Club has welcomed new leadership and awaits many upcoming service projects and activities. “Our club has grown from 12 members when Nancy West started it 4 years ago to around 60 members this year,” says faculty advisor Carrie Wallace. The new Interact officers are Nathan Wallace as President, Kyson Tanner as Vice President, Koufax Cloward as Secretary, Maysie Scholes as Treasurer, and the Directors are Brooklyn Norman, Madison Snow, and Mallory Goodrich. In the club, there is an award called the Distinguished Service Award and in 2017 club members were challenged to log 250 hours of service. Atwood Kaufusi and Chris Appawoo were recipients of this award on Thursday, January 11. Interact has many big projects coming up such as a polio fundraiser in the summer, a senior citizen prom, and a trip to Mexico in June, where they will go and build houses. Big thanks to the Interact Club for serving our communities and making the world a better place.
