The Juab Wasps mercy ruled the Summit Academy Bears to win the play-in game to start the 3A softball tournament. The Union Cougars hosted the game, as the winner immediately took on the Cougars on the Cougz home field.
Pitcher Haylee Moynier only gave up two hits and two runs as her teammates put together two 8 run innings on their way to a 17-2 mercy ruled victory. Payzlei Parrish went 3 for 4 with two doubles and three RBIs in the victory.
The Cougz will travel to the Spanish Fork Softball Complex to take on Richfield at 12:15pm on Thursday to continue the tournament.
