It’s been a great season for track and field and the Union Cougars have had many school records broken. Union Cougar Athletics reports that this season Lisa Richards jumped a massive jump of 18′ 0.5″. This breaks the previous school record set by Kinslee Drake in 2022 with a jump of 17′ 8″. This is the third school record that Lisa has taken down this year. She also has the 100 meter hurdles and 300 meter hurdles record. Trace Thomas, Cruz Labrum, Brady Bell, and Matthew Costello took down the school record running the medley relay in 3:34.88. The old record was set in 2023 and was run by Kruz Cambridge, Crew Iverson, Justin Gillman, and Paul Squire. Justi Cook won the javelin throwing it 137′ 7″ over the weekend. The previous record was set by Justi just a few weeks ago. Finally, Jaylie Jenkins went down to compete at the SUU High School meet to compete in the 2k steeplechase. She won the steeplechase with a time of 7:26.33 which qualifies her for the national championships. Congratulations to all the Union Cougar track and field athletes!
