The third ranked Union boys baseball team kicked off the 3A State tournament hosting the 14th ranked Judge Memorial Bulldogs. The Cougars swept the series 10-0 and 15-3.
They headed to Utah Valley University on Monday to start bracket play meeting up with 11th ranked Richfield. The Wildcats took the early lead and held off a late inning Cougar rally to beat the Cougars 7-3 sending the Cougs to the one-loss bracket. Gannon Labrum had a double and a triple in the loss.
The Cougars will take on the 7th seed Grantsville Cowboys Tuesday at 11 am to see who plays the loser of the Juab, Richfield game.
