Unemployment Data Released For August 2026

New unemployment data has been released by the Utah Department of Workforce Services. August’s seasonally adjusted unemployment rate for the state of Utah is estimated at 3.5%, down a tenth of a percentage point from its level in July. Approximately 64,100 Utahns are unemployed. The August national unemployment rate is estimated at 4.1%, unchanged from its level in July. Daggett County’s unemployment rate is 3.5%, down from 3.7% a year ago. Duchesne County is at 3.7% unemployment, down from 3.9% a year ago, and Uintah County is at 3.6% unemployment which is down from 3.8% in August 2025. The next statewide employment and unemployment report is scheduled for release on October 16th and county unemployment data is scheduled for release on October 19th.
