Uintah Transportation Special Service District Financial Report

Monday’s Uintah County Commission meeting included a report on the financial status of the Uintah Transportation Special Service District. Executive Director Adam Massey presented and stated that the original budget for 2017 was set at $4.8 million dollars but after a million dollars in cuts the final budget sits at $3.8 million dollars. Financial obligations held by the Transportation District is $2 million dollars in annual payments towards CIB loans as well as providing one million dollars in match money for the $16 million dollar grant for the airport runway and taxiway project. The Transportation District also finances the airport costs at approximately $700,000 dollars annually. Projects that had been anticipated by the Transportation District for 2017 have been set aside with possibly one exception. The Woods Road project may move forward but only the portion covered by grant funding. Commissioner Duane Shepherd stated that the UTSSD board takes their responsibilities seriously and he also commended Adam Massey for the care he is taking to ensure the airport is taken care of and the Transportation District is properly run.
