Uintah Theatre Performs at State Musical Theatre Awards/Wins Best Lighting

Uintah High Theatre took home an award from the Utah High School Musical Theatre Awards held on Saturday at the new Eccles Theatre in Salt Lake City. The group won Best Lighting Design for their production of The Hunchback of Notre Dame. “It was an inspiring and beautiful evening,” shares Uintah Theatre Director Chris Piner. “Our state is stacked with talented young people, brilliant musical theatre programs and directors.” The Uintah Theatre members performed during the awards event and had 60 kids on stage for a medley from The Hunchback of Notre Dame that earned them a standing ovation. Uintah was nominated as a finalist for multiple awards for Hunchback including Best Musical, Best Director, Best Choreography, Best Set Design, Best Costume Design, Best Lighting Design, Best Technical Crew, and Connor Talbot as Best Actor, Caleb Hunt as Best Supporting Actor, and Devin Reynolds as Best Cameo. Their fall production of Music Man was also nominated as a finalist for multiple awards.
