Uintah Teacher Recognized in Washington D.C. as Utah Teacher of the Year

A Uintah teacher was recognized this week in Washington D.C. as the Teacher of the Year for the state of Utah. English teacher Aaryn Snow Birchell was named the State of Utah’s 2018 Teacher of the Year last September. Birchell was selected from 26 nominees by a committee including representatives from the Utah State Board of Education, school principals and teachers as well as the 2017 Utah Teacher of the Year. Mrs. Birchell is currently on a trip in Washington D.C. with the Teachers of the Year from across the United States that has included a reception at Vice President Pence’s home, a meeting with Betsy Devos of the Department of Education and the opportunity to meet President Trump.
