The 2nd annual ‘State of the District’ event for Uintah School District was held at the Uintah Conference Center on Tuesday morning. The event hosted by the Uintah Schools Foundation had a great turnout with live entertainment from Uintah High School’s Pandemonium jazz band as well as performances by the Uintah High Polyphony choir and combined elementary school children’s choir. Superintendent Rick Woodford and the district’s administrative team presented on projects, data, and student achievements. Dr. Woodford shared the District’s long-range facilities plan, enrollment numbers, and the 20-year plan for school buildings depending on enrollment scenarios. He said school capacities are in a good position and, unless there is a boom in population, will be for years to come. Student achievements were also celebrated, including an improvement in the number of kindergarten students proficient in reading which numbers are now higher than the state average. The takeaway from it all? The ‘State of the District’ is strong.
