After months of collaboration between Uintah School District administrators and school board members, the district has an updated strategic plan with new mission and vision statements, values, and goals. “With new board and district leadership, this spring was an opportune time to evaluate our strategic plan and the direction we have been moving,” Uintah Schools Superintendent Rick Woodford said. “The former plan served our district and community well for a number of years,” he said. “The updated plan renews our district’s commitment to student learning while setting a new course toward excellence.” The district’s newly adopted mission statement is: “We provide a positive and engaging learning environment where all students develop essential skills for productive citizenship and lifelong learning.” Its newly adopted vision statement is: “We inspire students to reach their full individual potential.” The district goals are to cultivate a positive educational culture where all students are actively engaged in high levels of learning, and to increase student learning through the implementation of a continuous school improvement model using measurable outcomes and data-driven instruction.
