Uintah School District Announces Free School Meals

Free school meals will continue in the Uintah School District. Even though school meals will be free through June 30th, the district is asking parents/guardians to complete the free/reduced lunch application. Some types of school and community funding are based on the number of students who qualify for free/reduced lunch due to household income or participation in other state and federal programs. The application for free/reduced school meals can be filled out at any time during the school year. Students who attend classes in-person can receive one free breakfast and one free lunch Monday through Friday at their respective school when school is in session. If a student wants to purchase just a milk, extra food items or an extra meal, they will be charged full price for those items. The district will also be offering free curbside pick up for breakfast and lunch from all elementary schools Monday through Friday when school is in session. The district will NOT offer curbside pick up of meals from its secondary schools but secondary-age students or their parent/guardian can pick up free curbside meals from any USD elementary school. Parents/guardians need to sign up online for free curbside meals for their children just like last year. This will give our kitchen staff a count of how many meals they need to prepare.
