The Uintah School District Teacher of the Year is Maeser Elementary teacher Alisa Atherton. The District shared several things about Alisa that stands out: She has been recognized with the TEACH grant, the AI for K-12 grant, the FIRST LEGO League Discover grant, and has even helped lead two Guinness World Record literacy events. A published author, a grade-level team leader, and a tireless advocate for students and colleagues alike, Alisa truly embodies what it means to be an educator. The Uintah School District Education Support Professional of the Year is Meredith Manwaring who has served as a registered nurse in the District for 17 years. “Meredith’s dedication goes far beyond her job description,” shares the District. “She builds individualized health plans, advocates for every student’s well-being, and provides staff with training and guidance to ensure kids receive necessary care while attending school.” Congratulations to Teacher of the Year Alisa Atherton and Support Professional of the Year Meredith Manwaring.
