The best wildfire equipment can be expensive and hard to come by. Thankfully, two local businesses have made the purchase possible for a much needed and appreciated fire truck. The Uintah Fire District announced gratitude this month toward Finley Resources and Uinta Wax for the monetary donation making it possible to obtain the fire truck. “We are proud to have played a role in bringing a new fire truck with certain specialty capabilities to the Uintah Basin,” shares Jim Finley, President of Uinta Wax LLC and CEO Finley Resources Inc. “We believe support for this essential service is critical now more than  ever and this investment provides an opportunity to save lives and better serve the community.” The Avalon Fire Department has needed a pumper truck capable of dispensing foam and delivering large amounts of water to fires within their response area. “This fire truck will keep our firefighters safe and also help us manage fires in the oil and gas wells in our area,” says Fire Chief Joey Rodriguez of the Avalon Fire Department. The new fire truck is scheduled to be delivered at the end of September. At that time, the Uintah Fire District, Finley Resources and Uinta Wax LLC will hold a community barbeque for the Avalon volunteer firefighters and their families, Finley Resources/Uinta Wax employees, and the nearby county residents.
