A Uintah County woman is facing drug and distribution charges after an incident in which police responded to a call to the Vernal McDonalds parking lot. 51-year-old Gertrude Marie Holland has been charged with one count of driving with a controlled substance in the body, two counts of possession of a controlled substance with intent to distribute, and one count of possession of drug paraphernalia with intent to deliver. According to court documents, police responded to a call on December 30th to the McDonalds parking lot where officers found Holland in the driver’s seat of the reported vehicle. Officers reported that she was unable to remember where she lived and was acting fidgety so officers performed a series of sobriety tests. She was found unsafe to operate a vehicle and was placed under arrest. Holland told officers she had used Methamphetamine a few hours earlier and that she had a baggie of Methamphetamine in her bra. A narcotics K-9 indicated that drugs were in the vehicle. A search revealed drug paraphernalia including items for distribution, approximately 2.6 grams of Heroin, 5.6 grams of Methamphetamine, and a bag of prescribed medication. Holland made her initial appearance in court on Monday.
