While the community is grateful for new recruits to local law enforcement, that gratitude may not compare to the excitement garnered when the new recruit is a furry, four-legged friend. The Uintah County Sheriff’s Office introduced the community via Facebook to their newest team member Simba, a two-year-old bloodhound that is trained in scent detection. Simba and his handler, Deputy Maryann Wangsgard, are excited to serve the Uintah Basin community!
