Uintah County Resource Management Plan a Priority

by | Jul 21, 2017 | News | 0 comments

The incorporation of a Resource Management Plan into the Uintah County General Plan was delayed this week during Commission meeting as final adjustments are made. The plan is the product of many months of work and collaboration as a document that sets forth county policies for the use of public lands. County Resource Management Planning is a requirement under Utah Code. House Bill 323 was passed by the 2015 Utah Legislature initiating the requirements and followed up with House Bill 219 passed by the 2016 Utah Legislature. Uintah County Community Development Department reports that work on the General Plan as a whole is moving along and that the Commission will now consider the Resource Management Plan (RMP) section of the General Plan during their next Commission meeting on July 31st. The Uintah County Planning Commission recommended approval of the other sections of the General Plan as well during a public hearing on July 19th. Citizens can view the Resource Management Plan on the county website and questions can be directed to the Community Development Department.
