The Primary Election is coming up in June and Uintah County has shared what you need to know in order to vote. First, if you are not registered to vote, you have until June 12th at 5pm to register at vote.utah.gov. To receive a Republican ballot, you must be affiliated with the Republican Party. The deadline to change your party affiliation has already passed, however, if you are unaffiliated you can still join a party through Election Day in the Clerk-Auditor’s Office. Registered voters who did not opt-out of voting “by mail” and are affiliated with the Republican Party will receive a ballot by mail in Uintah County starting June 2nd. Simply complete your ballot, sign the return envelope, and return it. Uintah County ballot drop boxes are located at the Uintah County Library Drive-Thru and the Vernal, Naples, and Ballard City offices. Early Voting is taking place June 9th through the 19th at the Uintah County Clerk-Auditor’s Office during open business hours. Voting is also possible in person on Election Day, June 23rd, from 7 am to 8 pm in the Uintah County Commission Chambers. For more information, visit uintah.gov/elections or call 435-781-5360.
