If you’re bored this summer it is your own fault. While it may be cold and snowpacked outside, the folks at Uintah County Travel and Tourism have stayed laser focused planning and preparing for another successful summer event season in Utah’s Dinosaurland. “Events are a huge part of our tourism economy in Vernal,” shares Uintah County Travel and Tourism Executive Director Lesha Coltharp. “Many draw thousands of people from all over the United States and even foreign countries. Millions of dollars are brought into the economy from events. It has been a huge game changer for the economy and we continue to add new events as we have the manpower to do it.” The season kicks off with the Outlaw ATV Jamboree the end of May and there is something almost every weekend until Phenomecon in September. There is something for everyone and local businesses thrive on the busy summer of dining, shopping, and visitors needing lodging. “The local event complexes like Buckskin Hills, the ball diamonds, Uintah Conference Center,  and Western Park also see the benefits of these events and help their bottom line as well,” shares Coltharp. “We are looking forward to another busy summer and fall and look forward to seeing the economic benefit in our community.” Stay up to date by visiting www.ThisIsVernal.com where you can also subscribe for a weekly email outlining the events for that week.
